Medical trauma might occur after an accident, injury, or elective surgery. You might have experienced trauma from childbirth, a miscarriage, or an abortion.
Because medical procedures involve your body and working with others, these events can bring up trauma from the past as well. In therapy, we can explore how you can compassionately care for yourself as we work through these issues together. We can work to process the regret and grief that often occur when things don’t go as planned.
Our bodies often take the brunt of the pain we have experienced in life. Rather than detaching from or harming our bodies, it’s possible to feel empowered and compassionate towards ourselves — both psychologically and physically.
